Libraries as Place Discussion Facilitation

LIBS 691: Seminar in Public Libraries

The closing report and annotated bibliography of a class discussion designed and facilitated with another classmate. I was extremely fortunate to have a partner willing to give me full reign over its direction, which let me frame our topic in a deliberately broad sense: not just public libraries as physical spaces designed for their communities, but public libraries as institutions serving as "the last public space" in an era defined by the abandonment of socioeconomic safety nets and the wholesale foreclosure of all other public space. Very much a soapbox I will continue to preach upon throughout my career.
