- Fulfilled every stage of the circulation process, from checking out items to patrons, to checking them in from book drops, to putting items on hold, and locating items on hold or for evaluation
- Issued library cards, maintained patron account information, and handled money for fees, book sales, and other transactions
- Troubleshooted technology issues for computers, printers, fax machines, smartphones, eReaders, and more, for both patrons and coworkers
- Answering reference questions usually delegated to the adult services desk, including readers advisory and research assistance
- Staffing the youth services desk when no other crosstrained staff are available
- Retrieving outdoor book drop carts and courier bins when a page isn't present
- Assissting with the training of new clerks through describing and demonstrating proper procedures
- Serving as the go-to for ILS assistance when a coworker has trouble, regardless of department or seniority
