Transgender Resource Guide
LIBS 657: LGBTQIA+ Issues in Public Libraries
An annotated bibliography of books and online resources for those considering undergoing or curious about the process of gender transition. Though the assignment allowed us to cover any queer identity from any angle, the albatross of cultural fears and political scapegoating seemed to belie the actual steps people take to achieve their ideal self. As it would turn out, the archetypal medical transition is merely one optional method of the countless different ways to be trans, but the rarity of how-tos of the process (to me) seemed to necessitate a focus on usable, purposeful items.
